What I do

I record live drums

I record drums in my home studio and in a recording studio.

I edit drum tracks

I align phase, balance levels and trigger recorded drum tracks.

I overdub percussion

I record percussion instruments: cajón, congas, bongos and others.

Drum transcription

I write out drum parts - from audio and video materials.

MIDI drums

I record MIDI drum tracks on electronic drums.

I produce music and samples

I create loops, beats and drum samples. I prepare ready-made sounds.

I fix rhythm

I replace, align and overdub drums for existing recordings.

I play substitute gigs

In my free time, I help out fellow musicians. I read sheet music and play by ear.

I compose and arrange pieces in different musical genres. I have a large number of acoustic instruments, virtual instruments and real analogue synthesizers. For mixing, I use the best virtual plugins.

Recording sessions

A drum recording is the moment when a song really starts to “come alive”. What matters here is not only technical precision, but also a sense of style, dynamics and how much space the drums should occupy in the whole arrangement. I always try to choose the sound and the way of playing so that everything feels coherent and musical - sometimes that means simplicity and subtlety, and sometimes more character and a stronger pulse. It is also the stage at which decisions are made about groove and performance details, so that the final recording works well in the mix.

Mix and post-production

Mix and post-production are the stages where the recorded material takes on its final shape and coherence. The right proportions, sound clarity and attention to detail make it possible to bring out the full energy of every drum track. It is also the moment when I make creative decisions - about space, tone and sound character - because it is often these nuances that affect the final perception of the piece. The goal is a natural, musical sound that works well both in a dense arrangement and in more minimalist productions.

Rhythm can speak many languages, shift the energy and give music a completely different character.

I heard the stories. For example, Eric Clapton said he wanted to burn his guitar when he heard Jimi Hendrix play. I never understood that, because when I saw a great drummer, I just wanted to practice.
