About Me

Hi, I’m Miko Moon. I’m a session drummer, and rhythm has been a defining part of my life from an early age. I regularly work on studio recording sessions, perform in a range of projects, create drum parts, compose, and handle audio mixing.

My journey began at the age of 8, when I sat behind a drum kit for the first time. That was the moment everything became clear – I was hooked.

After my first years of playing, practicing at home, and performing at school events, I continued my development under the guidance of professional teachers – Jerzy Łaba and Dawid Pawlikanis. Shortly after, I enrolled in a State Secondary Music School, joining its newly established jazz department, where I studied with Michał Maliński and Mateusz Maniak. During that time, I also became a member of the Wind Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, led by Piotr Bugaj. I graduated with distinction as one of the youngest students in my class.

At the same time, I began working in the studio – recording my first album with the project SONIQZ alongside Leon Jakubek. This marked the beginning of an intensive period of studio work: from recording drum parts for singles and albums, to music for stage productions, as well as individual artistic projects.

Over time, live performances and more significant stage opportunities followed. A key moment was my involvement in the Lunamë project, where I stepped in at the invitation of Maciej Kądziela. With this group, I played my first major international festival concert – in Ukraine, in a country affected by war. That experience was deeply meaningful and became an important step in my development as a live performer. As part of this project, I also performed at the premiere concert of the Jazz po polsku festival at Jassmine club in Warsaw.

I’ve been fortunate to work with one of the most respected drummers and educators in the world – Dave Weckl, with whom I continue to collaborate. During my time in New York at the Manhattan School of Music, I also met the legendary John Riley, and I continue to develop my skills under his guidance.

Studio Work and Experience

From an early age, I became familiar with the studio environment – developing precision, time control, and a conscious approach to shaping sound. These experiences have strongly influenced the way I approach recording sessions.

I quickly developed a strong understanding of recording drums. I work in professional DAW environments such as Avid Pro Tools and use a wide range of tools and plug–ins from companies including Eventide, FabFilter, Universal Audio, Softube, Soundtoys, and Waves Audio. I have recorded numerous drum tracks that can be heard in releases by artists from Poland and abroad, as well as in commercial productions. I collaborate with producers, engineers, musicians, composers, and arrangers, recording drum parts both in large–scale recording studios and in project studio setups.
