Drum Recording
Professional drum recording for songs and instrumental pieces - from individual productions to full albums. The entire recording process is carried out online.
The drum recording service is intended for musicians, producers, bands, and drummers who do not always have the conditions required for professional instrument recording. Online collaboration makes it possible to complete a recording regardless of location, while maintaining full control over sound and arrangement.
Recordings are carried out in a professional recording studio, using a multi-microphone setup, ambient microphones, and carefully selected instruments. Each project is treated individually - drums, cymbals, tuning, damping, and overall sound character are selected to match the specific track and musical style.
How the collaboration works
Send an email with information about the recording you need. Describe the project and how you want the drums to sound. Include in your message:
- genre, style, and tempo
- reference links
If you already have a track prepared - make sure to send it. This can be:
- audio recording
- video recording
- programmed drums
- sheet music / MIDI file
Any additional information will help prepare the recording and speed up the process.
Before recording, information about session parameters will also be required, such as sample rate and bit depth. If you are not sure which settings to choose, consult your engineer or producer.
Based on the materials you send, I prepare an individual quote for the project. After approval, we schedule the consultation and move to the next stage of collaboration.
The quote depends on factors such as:
- project difficulty
- number of tracks to record
- scope of creative input
- drum type and configuration
- time required to prepare the sound
- additional options: editing, mixing, or triggering
Every project is priced individually so the scope of work matches your needs.
The consultation is an essential part of the entire process, during which I gather the information needed to prepare the recording. During the online meeting, we go through the track, define what should be played and how, analyze the groove, the type of fills, and their length. We also discuss the sound of individual instruments and the stylistic direction - from traditional playing to more modern approaches combining different genres.
During the consultation, I also present my own ideas and variations that may influence the final shape of the drum part. The session takes place live from the project studio (DrumBox), so you can immediately hear the sound of the instruments and make informed decisions about the recording. This is also the stage where we define the final scope of work. If you decide not to continue, you only cover the cost of the consultation, billed hourly.
This is the key production stage - entering a professional studio and recording the drum part according to the consultation.
The recording session takes place in a professional studio, using a multi-microphone setup and a properly prepared drum kit. Every element of the recording is matched to the track's character and production goals.
During recording:
- the drum part is performed according to the agreed plan
- instruments are selected for the specific track
- the drum kit is tuned and prepared
- damping is used to shape the sound character
- a multi-microphone setup is used
- professional preamps and converters are used
After the session, you receive the full set of materials as audio files delivered electronically. You also receive a PDF document with a detailed description of the session contents, track names, and microphone configuration.
Depending on the order scope, the materials may include:
- all session tracks
- drum mix or stems
- additional recording versions
- alternative takes or doubles
On request, the material can go through post-production, including editing, additional sounds, triggering, layering, or replacement of selected elements.
The final material is prepared according to the agreed scope and ready for further production.

Possible workflows
I record drums for your track.
I record live drums based on your arrangement.
I record the drum part exactly as written.
We create the drum arrangement together.
Recording session
This is the most important and at the same time the most demanding stage of the entire process. Although the direction is defined in the earlier steps, many elements must come together during the recording session to form a coherent result. Key factors include the appropriate drum kit selection, proper tuning, instrument configuration, and precise microphone placement, including ambient microphones. Input levels on preamps, monitoring system configuration, and the final performance according to the consultation are also essential.
The session is supervised by an experienced engineer. Drums recorded in the studio have been featured on many singles and albums across a wide range of musical styles.
Compare the sound before and after
Choose an example from the playlist and switch between the before and after versions. The player keeps the same playback position, making it easy to compare the difference in sound.
